Holiday Packing a HUGE Success!

On November 10th approximately 70 volunteers showed up for our “official” holiday packing day. On short notice, 7 volunteers came on November 14th (after I did a quick shopping trip for items we ran short on) for a “second chance packing”. November 26th we had a group of youngsters and parents from Project Kindness helping get the last of the stockings packed.

Thanks to the many volunteers we packed over 90 boxes of love and comfort for our troops to make their holidays away from home a little brighter.

We shipped a total of 2,325 stockings filled with love!  1,617 stockings went overseas filled with a variety of snacks, puzzle books, phone cards and hand warmers plus 122 stockings filled with ornaments and holiday decorations for their “home away from home”. 586 went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Ft. Belvoir, VA where many of our wounded troops are recuperating.

We also sent 30 Gingerbread House kits and here is just one unit’s artistic creations!
